Oncology services available at JCH&L!
Oncology focuses on the prevention, cancer diagnosis, and cancer treatment of many types of cancer, bringing together medical oncology, surgical oncology, and other coordinated services to support you through every step of care.
At JCH&L, patients can access chemotherapy close to home, along with coordinated ancillary services and therapeutic services that support comfort, strength, and recovery. For more information or to coordinate a referral, call Outpatient Services at 402-729-6851.
Services available include:
- Chemotherapy and medical oncology care coordination
- Oncology consultations available from Joni Tilford, MD (oncologist from Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center in Lincoln) and Matthew Shupe, D.O. (Nebraska Hematology Oncology), monthly
- Laboratory testing (lab services) to guide treatment decisions and monitor progress
- Diagnostic imaging and radiology services used in evaluation, staging, and follow-up
- Respiratory therapy support when needed during treatment and recovery
- Lymphedema therapy and other supportive rehabilitation services
- Surgical services and coordination with surgical oncology when appropriate
- Supportive care services to help manage symptoms, side effects, nutrition, and overall wellbeing
When specialized care is needed beyond what’s offered onsite, we coordinate referrals to the right cancer specialist, including access to services such as radiation oncology.
