Parkinson’s disease is a chronic and progressive neurological disorder of the nervous system that worsens over time. It may cause movement problems, stiffness, tremors and trouble with balance, among other symptoms. It is estimated that 1.1 million people in the United States live with Parkinson’s Disease.
While there is not a cure for Parkinson’s Disease, medication may help symptoms improve, and surgery may be an option for some.
The mission of Parkinson’s Nebraska is to educate all Nebraskans living with Parkinson’s Disease as well as their caregivers of the resources available to support them in their journey. JCH&L is proud to partner with Parkinson’s Nebraska to provide an educational program for area residents.
