Gardenside Resident Dona Glenn to Be Featured on 10/11 News Pure Nebraska
The community is invited to celebrate a remarkable local resident when Dona Glenn of JCH&L Gardenside in Fairbury is featured on 10/11’s Pure Nebraska segment on Sunday, June 22, between 9 and 10 a.m.
Dona will celebrate her 103rd birthday on June 22, marking more than a century of life, family, and history rooted in southeast Nebraska. Born Dona Mae Wagner on June 22, 1923, in Jefferson County, she spent her childhood in the Fairbury area and was selected as Fairbury High School’s FFA Queen during her school years.
In 1941, Dona married Robert “Bob” Glenn, beginning a marriage that would span 63 years. Together they raised two sons, Ron and Richard, and spent many years farming near Beatrice before eventually returning to the Fairbury area.
Over the course of her lifetime, Dona has witnessed extraordinary changes, from the Great Depression and World War II to the modern digital age. Her life story reflects the resilience, hard work, and strong family values that have long characterized rural Nebraska communities.
Today, Dona resides at JCH&L Gardenside, where she recently celebrated her milestone birthday surrounded by family, friends, and caregivers. Her upcoming appearance on Pure Nebraska will give viewers an opportunity to hear more about her remarkable journey and the experiences she has gathered across more than a century of life.
