Megan Corbin Begins New Position

June 3, 2026/by Lana Likens

Megan Corbin, FNP-C, has started a new position at Jefferson Community Health & Life as a nurse practitioner. She will be staffing the Emergency Room as an Advanced Practice Provider and will be seeing patients in the Fairbury Clinic.

Corbin has been a nurse for 6 years, and has been providing care as a hospital nurse at JCH&L since 2021. The Fairbury native said she has wanted to be a nurse since she was a child.

“Ever since I was little it was what I wanted to do,” Corbin said.

She said she went back to school because she always wants to learn and also wanted to advance her career.

She received her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner through Walden University. She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

She said she likes providing care in the ER. In the ER, providers never know what might be coming. She said she feels good when she can “Be the calm in someone’s bad day … and help them get through whatever they are going through.”

She said that in addition to serving as a Nurse Practitioner in the ER and clinic, patients might still occasionally see her in a nursing role in the ER or hospital as needed.

Corbin, the daughter of Mitch and Julie Siebe, is a Fairbury High School graduate and has an associate’s degree in nursing from Central Community College. She and her husband, Jacob, also a Fairbury native, came back to Fairbury in 2021. They have two boys, Arlo, 3, and August, 14 months, and are expecting a daughter in October.

With three full-time board-certified family physicians, four board-certified family nurse practitioners, and two board certified physician assistants, JCH&L clinic is accepting new patients and same day appointments are typically available.

JCH&L Receives 5-Star Recognition from National Rural Rating System

June 2, 2026/by Lana Likens

Jefferson Community Health & Life has been recognized with a prestigious 5-star rating for the third consecutive quarter from the National Rural Rating System (NRRS) — a top-tier honor that celebrates excellence in rural healthcare delivery across the United States. In addition, JCH&L was named to the 2026 Honor Roll based on 2025 ratings.

The distinguished awards reflect the hospital’s steadfast dedication to providing exceptional care, earning high marks in patient satisfaction, quality outcomes, and overall performance. The NRRS 5-Star Rating highlights hospitals that go above and beyond in serving rural communities, often under challenging conditions where resources can be limited but compassion and commitment run deep.

JCH&L has received 5-Star recognition for the first quarter of 2026, and has received 5-Star ratings since it began participating in the program in the fall of 2025.

“Continued 5-Star recognition not only celebrates our accomplishments, it sets the tone for ongoing excellence in service to our community as a rural health care provider,” said Holly Wolff, CEO. “Our goal is to consistently offer the highest quality care with true compassion. We’re incredibly proud of our team for the care they provide for every patient, every time.”

The NRRS star system was developed to showcase excellence among rural and critical access hospitals that may not qualify for traditional CMS star ratings due to smaller patient volumes. Despite smaller numbers, facilities are still evaluated using rigorous standards, including data from certified patient satisfaction surveys (HCAHPS) and clinical quality indicators.

Jefferson Community Health & Life is proud to serve Jefferson County and the surrounding area, offering 24-hour emergency care, surgical services (including robotic surgery), acute and swing bed care, family medicine clinic, behavioral health, outpatient specialists, long-term care, home health, occupational health, and a community fitness center. JCH&L has been a cornerstone of health and healing in the region since 1963. With a mission to provide exceptional care to every customer every time, JCH&L remains committed to meeting the needs of its community with compassion, innovation, and integrity.
